REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING February 25, 2010

A Special Called Meeting was scheduled for Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Waelder City Hall. Those present were Mike Harris, Robert Tovar, Dora Ramirez, Annie Jackson, and Curtis Hadnot. Mayor Roy Tovar did preside.

The meeting was called to order and a quorum was established.

A motion was made by Harris to contract the EMS lease for Five (5) years at $300/month with a second by Robert Tovar. (Curtis Hadnot abstains). The motion was carried.

The Council convened to Executive Session at 7:04 p.m. according to Texas Government 551.074: Personnel Matters: Hiring of Police Department Personnel

The Council reconvened to Open Session at 7:40 p.m.
A motion was made by Curtis Hadnot with a second by Mike Harris to hire the two (2) Officers (William Bradley Heiman and Abel Jacob Rios) for the City of Waelder Police Department at a salary of $33,000/year. The vote was unanimous and the motion was passed.

A motion was made by Harris to give the Chief of Police, the authority to suspend Police personnel with or without pay at the Chief’s discretion with a second by Robert Tovar. The vote was unanimous and the motion was passed.

A motion was made by Curtis Hadnot to adjourn with a second by Tovar. The vote was unanimous and the motion was passed.
